Cami Slater

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Cami has spent over a decade working with children and adolescents including most recently as a middle school counselor. Cami sees clients ages 3 and up as well as adolescents, young adults and parents. She believes that play is the language of children and that felt-safety is the foundation for meaningful change. She is especially passionate about working with those who have experienced trauma and those impacted by the foster care system. At the heart of her approach is the belief that every child—and every parent—deserves a champion.
In her free time, Cami enjoys gardening, crocheting, sewing, discovering new coffee shops, hiking, and biking. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband, toddler, and their dog.
Cami holds an Education Specialist and Master of Education degree in Counseling from the University of Florida. She is a Certified School Counselor (PreK–12) and a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. As an adjunct professor in the counseling department at the University of Central Florida, Cami enjoys helping future counselors grow into their calling.

• Cami was a ballerina from 4-18 years old.
• Cami, her dad, her sister and her husband all went to UF. Go Gators!
• Cami’s favorite dessert is gluten free homemade chocolate chip cookies.
