Questions About Our Partnership with Charis?
-
Beginning July 1, 2026, Charis will begin supporting the administrative side of Willow Lane Counseling, including scheduling, billing, and day-to-day operations. At that time, clients will complete updated intake paperwork, and the Charis administrative team will provide guidance and support throughout the process.
One of the biggest benefits of this transition is increased administrative support for families. Rather than waiting to hear back from your therapist about scheduling needs, you’ll be able to call the office directly to cancel, reschedule, or book appointments in real time with a dedicated admin team. Our hope is that this creates a smoother, more responsive experience for the families we serve.

Your appointments and the office location will remain the same. Willow Lane Counseling will continue serving children and families from our Hillcrest office and remain committed to providing play therapy and attachment-focused care.
One important change is that Willow Lane Counseling will no longer be in-network with Aetna, Cigna, or Optum (United/UMR) insurance plans.

Over the years, insurance reimbursement rates have remained largely unchanged despite rising operational and living costs. Unfortunately, these rates were no longer sustainable in supporting the level of care we strive to provide for children, families, and clinicians.
We understand that insurance coverage is an important consideration for many families and can help offset the cost of services. Because accessibility remains deeply important to us, Willow Lane Counseling will continue offering a variety of support options, including reduced-rate services, sessions with graduate-level interns, and lower-cost therapeutic groups.
We are also happy to provide a monthly statement, often called a “superbill,” which families may submit to their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement depending on their plan benefits.

This partnership allows our clinicians to spend less time managing administrative responsibilities and more time doing what they do best — caring for children and families.
Through this partnership, Willow Lane Counseling will have increased access to resources and opportunities to expand its offerings, including therapeutic groups, workshops, day camps, and professional training for both families and the broader community.
Our hope is that this transition will allow us to deepen the support, connection, and care available to the children and families we serve while remaining grounded in the values and approach that define Willow Lane.
